Hanover, Germany played host to 71,000 visitors last weekend to celebrate 60 years of Volkswagen vans. Over 5,000 Transporter vans and campers were on display from the original ‘split-screen’ T1 to current fifth-generation models.
Fans from across the globe arrived in Volkswagen vans from every decade since the 1950s, filling the equivalent area of around 35 football pitches and putting away 6,000 German sausages and 100 barrels of beer in the process.
This would be so awesome! Love the side canopies and tent!
Went out for a bike ride in WV and stumbled upon a car show going on at the park! Of course we went riding around to see if there were any buses in the show. Well after about 2 seconds of looking we found one!
We met and talked to the Chandlers from Mason County WV. They have 3 buses and had this one at the show this weekend.

They had a great custom peace sign fabric interior and doors as well as a furry white headliner! The paint job took some serious time and had everybody stopping to have a look!

I chose this camper not only for its great condition but for the paint! This is what I am planning on finding or painting mine! Cheers!

I have been searching for a VW bus or camper for about 1 year now. There are some great websites just for VW enthusiasts like thesamba.com and thebusdepot.com for parts and links. I have found some groups that focus on just restoration such as sunsetclassics.com but there is a price tag attached for those super swanky buses! I have set a budget for my first bus!
My criteria are pretty loose but I would like to find a bus with a good running motor. The rest I am willing to fix up at my leisure if necessary. I would prefer a camper and a 68-71 body style. I know that I am not interested in a transporter as I am looking for the couch, table, seats, and place for the sink/fridge combo.
If you have a bus for sale or see one around email: vwbus @ joeeddins.com or leave a link or number on the form below!
I’ll update you on my quest for the VW!
